Dolores (Nanno) Toscano's Obituary
Dolores (Nanno) Toscano, 91, of Liverpool, NY, passed away July 1, 2025. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Raphael and Mary (Canestraro) Nanno and graduated from Grant High School in 1951. Dolores worked as a hairdresser from 1956 – 1965 at Addis Co., was a dental assistant with Dr. Maavere Rein, DDS from 1970 – 1980, an Audiologist Assistant with Syracuse City School District from 1980 - 1995. She was a professional ski instructor from 1975 - 1995 and enjoyed sailing and was 1st Mate with Thais Sail Team from 1982 – 1995.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her first husband, Natale Toscano in 1996 and second husband, Samuel Gross in 2020.
Dolores is survived by her son, David Toscano of Liverpool; two cousins, Marcia Frijo and David Canestraro, along with many friends.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. She will be privately laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Health Care, Bishop Nursing and Rehabilitation or CNY Alzheimer’s Association.
