Domenico Madonna's Obituary
Domenico Madonna, born in Maddaloni, Italy to the late Raffaele and Louise (DiNuzzo) Madonna, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024, surround by his loving family. He came to America in 1972 and worked for the City of Syracuse Department of Parks and Recreation for 25 years. Dom also dedicated his time working at St Joseph's Hospital in House Keeping for 14 years until his retirement. Domenico loved to entertain family and friends by singing Italian songs by his favorite artist, Mario Merola, especially cherishing the times of having a full house of family and friends to gather around the kitchen table to enjoy Filomena's famous cooking. He also enjoyed working in his garden.
Domenico is predeceased by his son, Lorenzo Madonna, and his siblings, Anthony, Michael, Pasquale, and John Madonna.
Domenico is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Filomena (Merola) Madonna; children, Louise (Michael) Petrillo, Antoinette (David) Ware, son Ralph (Sandra) Madonna; grandchildren, David, Lorenzo, and Annalise; as well as several nieces and nephews, in-laws and cousins.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. Domenico will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY 13212.
