Dominick Carapella's Obituary
Dominick Carapella, 96, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, March 10, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse to the late John and Caroline (Melfi) Carapella. Dominick served his country with the United States Navy and worked for over 38 dedicated years with Carrier Corp. He was an avid NY Yankees fan and enjoyed going fishing and bowling with family or friends.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Noreen (Neaterour) Carapella and his siblings, Jennie, Virginia, Angela, Michael, and Annie.
Dominick is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Brian) Topka; his sons, Donald (Candace Edwards) and Dominick J. Carapella; his granddaughter, Holly (Andreas) Tyszczenko; his 3 great-grandsons, Joseph, Liam, and Sergio Tyszczenko; his sister, Grace Swanka; his beloved canine companion, Teddy; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. A funeral mass in celebration of Dominick’s life will take place at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 16, 2023 in Our Lady of Pompei/ St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St. Syracuse. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
