Dominick C. DiPaulo's Obituary
Dominick C. DiPaulo (DD), age 82, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Syracuse, Dominick was the cherished son of the late Michael and Margaret (Ausilio) DiPaulo.
A U.S. Navy Veteran, Dominick went on to dedicate his adult life to the Syracuse Fire Department, rising to the esteemed role of President of Local 280 and serving as Vice President of the International Association of Fire Fighters. His leadership and commitment made a lasting impact on the lives of his fellow firefighters and the community he served so devotedly.
A lifelong Yankees fan, Dominick found joy in the simple pleasures of life—fishing, golfing, having a cigar with the boys, having a coffee at Dunkin with his buddies, and spending time with his close-knit circle of family and friends. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a proud “Papa” whose warmth, humor, and kindness will be deeply missed.
Along with his parents, Dominick is predeceased by his sisters-in-law Marlene DiPaulo and Barbara Harrington, and his brother-in-law Tom Pikulinski.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Kathleen (Hendry) DiPaulo; his children, Marlene (Kristin) DiPaulo, Missy (John) Angotti, and Lisa (Val) Klapan; his treasured grandchildren, Alexandra, Jessica, Kristina, and Olivia; his brother, Michael DiPaulo; and his sisters-in-law, Eileen (Jack) Amodio and Judy Pikulinski. He also leaves behind several loving nieces and nephews. His memory will be forever cherished by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Dominick’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Daniel’s Church, 3004 Court St. Syracuse, entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) Syracuse, NY 13212.
