Dominick Ranieri's Obituary
Dominick Ranieri, 90, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday at Crouse Hospital. He was born in Satriano, Italy, son of the late Martin and Mariangela Ranieri and came to the United States at the age of 30, residing in Syracuse most of his life. Dominick was a Mason for 32 years, retiring from D.W. Winkelman and was a member of Local 333 Laborer’s Union. Dominick enjoyed making wine, playing Bocce Ball, gardening and most of all spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his son, Theodore Ranieri.
Dominick is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Maria Grace (Mirarchi) Ranieri; his two daughters, Mary Ranieri of Syracuse and Marianna (Michael) Ranieri-Schwarzer of NYC; daughter-in-law, JoAnne (Mark Oot) Neider of Manlius; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Grace Mirarchi of Switzerland and Barbara Ranieri of Italy, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on at 9:00 am on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Dominick’s life at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Monday, June 6, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
