Donald W. Benjamin's Obituary
Donald W. Benjamin, 86, of North Syracuse, passed away Friday at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, the son of the late Delbert William and Ruth (Smith) Benjamin. Donald was a Draftsman with Lamson Diebold for over 20 years. He loved playing Tennis and enjoyed watching SU football and basketball. Donald wintered in Florida for over 10 years and looked forward to vacationing in Raquette Lake, twice a year for many years. He especially loved spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy A. (Roberts) Benjamin on July 16, 2015.
Donald is survived by three children, Kathy (Thomas) Horner of Cicero, Stephen Benjamin of Clay and Jonathan (Marilyn) Benjamin of North Syracuse; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Richard Benjamin; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 10:30 am at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 11:30 am at Pitcher Hill Community Church. Burial will follow in North Syracuse Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
