Donald A. Little, Jr.'s Obituary
Donald A. Little, Jr., 80, of Syracuse, passed away April 8, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Donald A. and Gladys (Stangeland) Little. Don was a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked as a Steam Fitter for Local 267 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union. Don was an avid SU sports fan and held season football tickets for decades. He enjoyed spending time with his sons and friends at Oswego State Hockey Games and bantering on the trips to and from those games. He also enjoyed a good western, particularly with John Wayne. Don was known for telling a good story, even if he never got to the end. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and always enjoyed a good meal. Don was a loving and gentle man, with a kind heart, and spoke caring words for those around him, and will be deeply missed.
He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia (DeRose) Little; his brother, Dale Little and niece, Melissa.
Don is survived by his twin sons, Don and Tom Little; two brothers, Dan (Helen) Little and Dean (Audrey) Little; two sisters, Susan Little-Malay and Sandra Little; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Little and LuAnn DeRose, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral Mass in celebration of Don’s life at 10:00 am in Assumption Church. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
