Donald G. "Don" Payment's Obituary
Donald G. "Don" Payment, 67, of Liverpool, passed away on Friday with his family by his side. He was born in Sault Ste, Marie, MI, son of the late Robert and Audrey (Meharry) Payment. Don was a U.S. Army veteran, serving two extended tours in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. He was employed with Carrier Corp. for over 28 years as an international fire inspector. His hobbies included flying private planes, hunting, fishing and traveling. He was a member of the SRC Salt City Riders Club, and the AMA Flying Association.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sherry (Austin) Payment; daughter, Nicole Peters; son, Ryan Payment; eight grandchildren; brothers, Dwayne and Randy Payment; sisters, Denise Malone, Ruth McIntosh-Brandt and Pamela McIntosh; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 10 am to noon at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. A prayer service will be held at noon followed by burial at Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Don’s memory may be made to Clear Path for Veterans, 1223 Salt Springs Road, Chittenango, NY 13037.
