Donald K. Thatvihane's Obituary
Donald K. Thatvihane, 69, of Camillus, passed away on January 17, 2021. He was born in Laos, as Korrakhanh, son of the late Mee and Phanh Thatvihane. He served in the military in Laos as a medical doctor. He changed his name to Donald when he immigrated to the United States. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree and started his own business, Don’s Taxi of Syracuse. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Family was Donald’s greatest love and he will be dearly missed.
Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings, Khoune, Khob, Kheum, Kao, and Bounlanh. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Vieng N. (Phommanirat) Thatvihane. Honoring and carrying on his legacy, are his sons; Phothai, Joseph, and Dr. George (Karen Le) Thatvihane, and 3 sons in Laos; Thong, Lam, and Lae; daughters; Phitsamai Thatvihane (Khampasith Luangaphay) and Umphavanh Thatvihane (Gabriel Flores); 2 grandchildren in the U.S.; Vieyla and Saharra; 12 grandchildren in Laos; siblings; Kheuam, Khao, Chanh, and Bounliane.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 11 am – 3 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY 13212.
