Donald P. Toteda's Obituary
Donald P. Toteda, 92, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Syracuse and served with the U.S. Navy during WWII. Donald was the manager of Bagozzi's Bowling Alleys, formerly owned Cozy's Retreat on Park Street and later was employed with General Motors, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, Choir, an original Pompeian Player and Ushered at Our Lady of Pompei Church. Donald was a member of Our Lady of Pompei Golf and Bowling League. He was an avid NY Yankee's fan and was also a member of the Golden Agers. He was predeceased by his wife, Pearl C. (Maurillo) Toteda in 2006 and his sister, Palma (Toteda) Bagozzi. Donald is survived by his three daughters, Carol Toteda, Michele Terrinoni and Lisa Collins, all of Syracuse; four grandchildren, Chantelle Terrinoni, David (Melissa) Caputo, Chad (Veda) Terrinoni and Ashley (TJ Sgroi) Caputo; seven great-grandchildren, Sierra, Gino, Sophia, Gianna, Giovanna, Mia and Fiona. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. The Holy Name Society will recite their ritual at the funeral home on Wednesday at 3:30 pm.
