Dora Rose (Iacuone) Settineri's Obituary
Dora Rose (Iacuone) Settineri, age 102, of E. Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on April 19, 2025. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Giuseppe and Concettina (Guardiani) Iacuone. She was a longtime communicant of St. Matthew’s Church in E. Syracuse.
Dora was employed at Chappell’s Department Store and the Addis Company for many years and later, she joined her husband, Frank, at Syracuse China until retirement.
Dora was a caring wife to her beloved husband, Frank, a wonderful mother and grandmother who was generous with her time and her love for all her family and her dear friends. She was known for her gourmet meals, flair for design, elegant style, sparkling eyes and bright smile. Dora will be dearly missed, and her family is blessed to have had her in their lives.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Frank A. Settineri; her brothers, Salvatore, Joseph, Aldo and Mario; and sisters, Elvira Petragnani, Antoinette DeAngelo, Rose LaMontagne, Jean Massimiani, and Norma Safin.
Dora is survived by her children, Dianne Settineri, Doretta (Lawrence) Royer, and Anita Settineri; two grandchildren, Loryn Royer and Linsay (Lucas Oliver) Royer; her sister, Donna Lou (Norman) Kreitzer; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 10:00 am – 10:45 am at St. Matthew’s Church, 229 W. Yates St., E. Syracuse, NY, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Dora’s life at 11:00 am at the church. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
