Doreen B. Thorn's Obituary
Doreen B. (Nicholas) Thorn, 80, of East Syracuse, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in London, England, the daughter of the late William and Ada (Hindmarch) Nicholas. Doreen was employed with Approved Pharmaceutical for 21 years and retired from Sears after 20 years of service. She was an avid sports fanatic. Doreen volunteered at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital and loved all children.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles N. Thorn in 1986. Doreen is survived by her two sons, Stephen C. (Penny) Thorn of Fon du lac, WI and Michael N. (Monica) of Greensboro, NC; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Terry (Theresa) Nicholas of England; two sisters, Jackie Bond and Deanna (Brian) Western, both of England, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service in celebration of Doreen’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Church of the Resurrection, Collamer Road, East Syracuse.
