Doris E. Alteri's Obituary
Doris E. (Talladay) Alteri, 98, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Edward and Doris (Newton) Talladay. Doris had fond memories of spending her younger years in Solvay and eventually graduated from Eastwood High School and attended Syracuse University. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards and crossword puzzles. Above all, Doris loved spending time with the love of her life Louis and felt lucky to be a part of his big Italian family.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Louis “Lou” Alteri in 2014 and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Alteri.
Doris is survived by two daughters, Pamela (Wayne) Hoffman and Jacqueline Clarke; her son, Louis (Terrie) Alteri; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, and nephews.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Doris’ life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by entombment in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
