Dorothy A. (Roberts) Benjamin's Obituary
Dorothy A. (Roberts) Benjamin, 84, of North Syracuse, passed away Thursday at Elderwood in Liverpool. She was born in Utica, NY, the daughter of the late Mervyn and Sarah (Williams) Roberts. Dorothy raised her family in North Syracuse. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting. Dorothy taught high speed long hand for Adult Education for several years and when on to work for BOCES as a Receptionist/Bookkeeper, ending her career as a Physical Therapy Aid at Birchwood.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Donald W. Benjamin; her three children, Kathy (Thomas) Horner of Cicero, Stephen Benjamin of Clay and Jonathan (Marilyn) Benjamin of North Syracuse; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mervyn (Marjorie) Roberts of Liverpool and John (Jean) Roberts of Washington; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 10:30 am at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 11:30 am at Pitcher Hill Community Church. Burial will follow in North Syracuse Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, July 20, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
