Dorothy C. (Voci) Pirro's Obituary
Dorothy C. (Voci) Pirro, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at St. Camillus. She was born on July 17, 1926 in Syracuse, NY to Salvatore and Rosina (Scripa) Voci. Dorothy attended Syracuse Schools, graduating from Central High School. During WWII she worked at the Rome Air Force Base and later was employed at Merchants Bank in the installment loan department. Dorothy retired from the Onondaga County Board of Elections where she was supervisor of the mail registration department.
Dorothy married Rocco C. Pirro on July 4, 1952 and were married for 64 years. Together they raised their children, Donna Marie, Mark, and Steven (Michele). She is also survived by her grandchildren, NicoleAnne, Pirro, Nicholas Pirro, and Joseph Pirro; her siblings, brother, Tony Voci, sister, Arlene (Frank) Romano, and brother, Richard (Carol) Voci; two aunts, Grace Bandoblu and MaryJane Scripa; sisters-in-law, Lucy Pirro and Carmella White; brothers-in-law, James (Ellie) Pirro and Michael (Sue) Pirro, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her brother Rocco and her sister Eleanor.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St. Camillus, Center “C” Section for their care and support of Dorothy.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 11:15 AM at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Dorothy’s life at 12:30 PM in Holy Family Church. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
