Dorothy J. (Brigandi) Rotunno's Obituary
Dorothy J. (Brigandi) Rotunno, 86, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Giuseppe and Martha (Duca) Brigandi.
Dorothy retired after 15 years as a machine operator for Schilling Forge, Inc. Previous to that, she was employed with Julius Resnick, Inc. for many years. Dorothy was a communicant of Our Lady of Pompei, member of St. Anthony’s Society, and member of the Assumption Catholic Golden Agers. She was also part of the Red Hat Society. Dorothy loved spending time with her family, bowling, bocce, and playing bingo.
Dorothy is predeceased by her husband, John Rotunno, Sr. and was the last survivor of 11 siblings. Dorothy is survived by her sons, John (Michele) Rotunno, Jr. and Ralph A. (Suzanne) Rotunno; granddaughters, Christina Rotunno (Shane) Cutlip, Nicole Alise Rotunno, and Angela Dorothea Rotunno; great-granddaughter, Nina Marie Cutlip and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St., Syracuse. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
