Dorothy Marie "Dore" Schaefer-Pfaff's Obituary
Dorothy Marie “Dore” Schaefer-Pfaff, 61, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Friday, June 19, 2026. She was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Henry Sr. and Elaine (Duquette) Schaefer and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources at St. Bonaventure University. Dorothy worked as client services manager for many years at the Simon’s Agency in Syracuse. She loved watching her favorite hockey team, the Washington Capitals, and also enjoyed going on walks, boating, and playing with her cats. Dorothy loved making people smile, but more than anything she loved spending time with her daughter, Michelle.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Henry H. Schaefer, II and her dog, Henry.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Michelle Pfaff; her cats, Lucy, Ethel, and Billie; along with many loving cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends in Syracuse, Plattsburgh, and Baltimore.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
