Dr. Carl F. Azzoto's Obituary
Dr. Carl F. Azzoto, 71, of Cicero, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Wednesday, December 3, 2014. He was born in Syracuse and was a graduate of North High School. He received two Bachelor Degrees at Syracuse University and graduated from New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. Dr. Azzoto was an Optometrist with Sterling Optical for 36 years. He was a member of the Central New York Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. Dr. Azzoto loved to travel, was an avid golfer and a member of Lakeshore Yacht and Country Club.
He was predeceased by his mother, Anne (Stager) Azzoto in 2007 and his father-in-law, Thomas Flanagan in 2007.
Dr. Azzoto is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Colleen E. (Flanagan) Azzoto; his three children, Vanessa J. Azzoto of Cicero, Elizabeth A. Azzoto of Mattydale, and Alison F. Azzoto of North Syracuse; three grandchildren, Gabriel, Dylan, and Tyler; his father, Orlando Azzoto of Liverpool; two sisters, Gail (Lee) Henderson of North Syracuse and Lynn Yonnick of Liverpool; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas F. and Elizabeth J. Flanagan of MA; sister-in-law, Cathleen Flanagan of MA; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 8:15 am on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Dr. Azzoto’s life at 9:15 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, December 8, 2014 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
