Dr. Larry M. Silverman's Obituary
Dr. Larry M. Silverman, 66, of Cicero, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2015.
Dr. Silverman was born January 23, 1949, in Pittsburgh, PA. He was a 1967 graduate of Peabody High School, and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with degrees in mathematics (1970) and dental medicine (1974).
Dr. Silverman was a well-respected and successful dentist in Central New York who ran his own practice in Cicero for more than 18 years. He was an emeritus staff member at St. Joseph's Hospital as well as a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Silverman enjoyed spending time with his family, driving his antique cars, and furthering his knowledge in the field of dentistry. He was a staunch supporter of Syracuse athletics and attended many events. He was also a big fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams and silently cheered for his Alma mater, Hail to Pitt.
Dr. Silverman is predeceased by his father, Morris, mother, Lois, and a sister in infancy.
Dr. Silverman is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patricia (Cherry); son, Jude (Joy); daughters, Jessica Spicer (Jack) and Jaclyn, and his granddaughter, Ava. He is also survived by his brother, Martin Silverman; his sister, Diana Gore, along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 21, 2015 from 10 am – noon with funeral services to follow at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
