Dr. Vivian Stephanie Roman's Obituary
Dr. Vivian Stephanie Roman passed away suddenly from complications due to her battle with acute myeloid leukemia on July 7, 2017 in North Carolina. She is predeceased by her parents, Theodore and Daniella Roman of Camillus, NY. She was a graduate of West Genesee High School and served in the United States Airforce, stationed at Peterson AFB, Colorado Springs. After honorably serving, Vivian (known to friends and family as “Binky”) earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree practicing in Massachusetts and eventually moved to Leland, N.C.
Binky had a great love of animals and nature. Her favorite quote -"you can do something, or nothing!”
Vivian is survived by siblings: R. Diane Roman, Barbara Roman Stack, Edward Roman and Charles Roman; nephews, John Stack and James (Jimbo) Stack; niece, Danielle Stack Cheney, her husband, John Cheney and sons, Gavin, Owen and Quinn; cousins: Elizabeth Karwowski Wilson, her husband Tom and family.
The family gives a special thanks and appreciation to Pastor Joe Carr, Associate Pastor Amy Scruggs and members of The Message Church; the doctors and nurses at UNC Medical Center Chapel Hill, NC and Regional Medical Center of Durham, NC.
Calling hours will be Monday, July 31, 2017, 4:00 - 7:00 PM at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. A Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, 9:30 AM at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Avenue, Syracuse, NY. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes.
