E. William Donahoe's Obituary
Eugene "Bill" Donahoe, 83, of Cicero, passed away in The Villages, FL. Mr. Donahoe was born in West Orange, NJ and resided in Long Valley, NJ moving to Cicero in 1998. He was a graduate of Syracuse University, a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and a US Marine during the Korean War era. He worked in advertising, forming his own consulting business. He was a fan of all sports and played tennis, but Jazz was his passion. He was a big fan of Bix Beiderbecke, the famous coronet player. He formed the Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Band and in 1971, the 40th anniversary of Bix's death, went to Davenport, Iowa and played a tribute on Bix's grave and that has turned into a 3 day "Bix" fesival. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Cay. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Chickie); daughters, Micaela Donahoe, Careth Daly (Tim), Jamie Donahoe (Jason George) and Caitlin Donahoe; grandchildren, Emily and Ryan Daly and Colleen George; stepchildren, Wendy Abbe, John and David Caramanna and Tricia Johnson, their families including 10 grandchildren. A celebration of life will be at Borio's Restaurant, Saturday, June 25, 2011 from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
