Earle Lathrop Traub's Obituary
Earle Lathrop Traub, 86, of Liverpool , NY, passed away on Friday. He was born in Yonkers, NY and was a former resident of Albany and Manlius. He served as Quartermaster on LSM 354 in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Earle graduated in 1950 from Syracuse University with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, the New York State Society of Professional Engineers, St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral, Syracuse and previously, St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Albany. He was also a member and past president of American Gas Association. Earle was employed by Suburban Gas of Syracuse and retired as Supervisor of Gas Engineering at Niagara Mohawk Power Company. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Barbara (Goldschmidt) Traub in 2008. Earle is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and John Holman of McLean, VA and Libby and Chuck Boniti of North Syracuse; five grandchildren, Kathryn Wallace, and her husband Scott, of White Plains, NY, Loretta Boniti of Raleigh, NC, Luke Holman of Chapel Hill, NC, Tom Holman of Stanford, CA, and Jim Holman of Orlando, FL, all of whom will serve as pallbearers. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Anne Wallace of White Plains, NY. Funeral services will be Monday at 11:30 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral in Syracuse, NY or The American Cancer Society.
