Edith D. (Fleury) Horner's Obituary
Edith D. (Fleury) Horner, 83, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Van Duyn. She was born January 22, 1935 in an original family log cabin in Westville, NY to Victor and Florida (Dame) Fleury. She married Gordon Horner in 1953 and together raised five children. Edith was a waitress and cook at Carl’s Lakeland Diner. She enjoyed Bingo, shopping at Thrift Stores and only would drive Ford vehicles. Some of her favorite activities include having holiday dinners with her mother, and canning different garden vegetables together. She also enjoyed listening to her daughter Sarah sing.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon S. Horner, Sr.; two sons, Gordon and Keith Horner; three brothers, Roger, Arthur and James, and her sister Betsy.
Edith is survived by three children, Earl Horner, James Horner, and Sarah Horner; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her sister, Lorraine Moore (George) ; her step-sister, Donna (Ed) two step-brothers, Lester (Debbie) and Wayne (Vicky) several nieces and nephews, and her dog BABE.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Edith’s life will be held at 12:00 pm (noon) on Friday, April 13, 2018 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Private burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
