Edith (Tangredi) Kaufman's Obituary
Edith (Tangredi) Kaufman, 91, passed away peacefully at her home on August 29, 2023.
She was a lifelong resident of Syracuse, the daughter of Anthony and Rose (Conza) Tangredi.
Edith began her working life as a telephone operator and ended her career as a supervisor for telephone linemen. She was an avid golfer and volunteered for the Special Olympics and participated in the Senior Games. Edith was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Thomas Kaufman in 2022; her granddaughter, Kathleen Scott; her sisters, Rose Ozark and Mary Jane Gratien, and brothers, Daniel, Nick, Anthony, Carmen, Tom, and James Tangredi.
Edith is survived by her daughters, Roseann Schoonmaker of Auburn, Joanne Scott of Syracuse, and Theresa (Jeff) Biasuzzi of Walingford, Vermont; her sons, Joseph (Debra) Kaufman of Brewerton, Thomas (Anne) Kaufman and Steven Kaufman of Syracuse; her grandchildren, Timothy Scott, Christine Hamilton, Daniel Kaufman, Thomas Kaufman, Jennifer Kaufman, Nicole Cumming, Michael Biasuzzi, William Kaufman, Zachary Kaufman, and Michael Kaufman; her great-grandchildren, Gavin and Rowan Hamilton, Madison Kaufman, Lauren and Alivia Kaufman, Eric and Juliana Fleury, Brantley Cummings and Tyler Kaufman; her sister, Gloria Rizzo; along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 4 - 6 pm on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. A funeral Mass in celebration of Edith’s life will take place at 10 am on Thursday, September 7, 2023, in Most Holy Rosary Church, Syracuse. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
