Edna May (Woolridge) Jennings' Obituary
Edna May (Woolridge) Jennings, 83, of Brewerton, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the Cottages at Garden Grove, Cicero.
Edna was the 6th of 8 children born to the late Jane and Claude Woolridge of Bridgeport, N.Y. Upon her husband Earl’s passing, Edna became the sole owner and manager of the Jennings Trucking Company in Oswego before retiring in 1996.
Edna enjoyed gardening, following the politics of the day, watching cooking shows, playing Bingo, Scrabble, cards, and puzzles. She enjoyed spending time with her family, which gave her the most joy in her life.
Edna was kind and warm-hearted with a witty sense of humor. She laughed and smiled easily making many friends. She was loved by all, as witnessed by many of the staff at the Cottages, both past and present, stopping by to tell Edna they loved her and it was an honor and a privilege to care for her. Thank you to all the staff at the Cottages who cared for her, we are forever grateful.
In addition to her parents Edna was predeceased by her first husband John, second husband Earl and sons, John and Richard McArdell. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Gilchrist, Cindy McArdell (Tom McNamara), Melissa (Terry) Wilson, Jessica (Keith) Brown, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and brother David.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, N.Y. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be private at a later date.
