Edward Benjamin Brown III's Obituary
Edward Benjamin Brown III was born on August 16, 1987, in Albany, New York.
Edward graduated from Medaille College, where he acquired a solid education and built a solid foundation for his future endeavors.
Throughout his life, Edward exhibited remarkable qualities that endeared him to those around him. Known for his kind heart and selflessness, he always went above and beyond to help his friends and others in need. Once Edward came home barefooted and when asked where his shoes were, he said he gave them to a homeless man who didn’t have any shoes. That’s who he was.
One of Edward's distinctive traits was his boundless energy, which he brought to every aspect of his life. Whether it was on the dance floor, where he captivated everyone with his infectious moves, or in social gatherings, where he effortlessly brought life to the party, Edward had a remarkable ability to uplift the spirits of those around him.
The Lord called Edward’s name and he answered and went to his home in Heaven on July 12, 2023. He was the beloved son of Stephanie Stratton (John) and Edward Benjamin Brown, Jr., and the cherished brother of Stephon Bowden (Eben).
Edward leaves behind his loving children, Nyessah Brown and Edward Benjamin Brown IV, his grandmother, Deborah McGee (Richard) of Indianapolis IN, grandfather, Steven Bowden (Mary) of Laveen AZ, aunts, Lee-Ann Bowden, Tyiesha Ford, Larri Kittell all from Albany NY and Barbara Wilmont of Hillside NJ, uncle, Steven Bowden, Jr., nieces, Madison and Marissa Bowden, nephew, Mason Bowden of Syracuse NY and a host of cousins and other family members.
Edward was preceded in death by his grandmother, Hilda Richards, great-grandmothers, Denise Bowden and Mamie Thompson, aunt Winsom Humphrey, great-aunt Iris Brown and his Uncle Alonzo (Lonnie) Ford.
Edward will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His legacy will continue to resonate through the memories of his loved ones.
A funeral service in celebration of Edward’s life is being held at the University United Methodist Church, 324 University Ave., Syracuse, NY 13210 on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon.
