Edward M. "Teddy" Collins' Obituary
Edward M. “Teddy” Collins passed away peacefully on Friday surrounded by his loving family. He was a graduate of New York State School for the Deaf in Rome, NY, and was a prominent member of the deaf community. Teddy was a proud member of the Valley Desperados and worked for several dedicated years at Turning Stone Casino. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his beloved nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Thomas J. Collins; brother, John J. Collins; brothers-in-law, Dr. A. John Merola III and John June; nephew, Brian Anastas.
He is survived by his mother, Mary (Marvin) Collins-Triggs; three brothers, Thomas J. (Kathy) Collins; Joseph P. (Virginia) Collins; Stephen P. (Jennifer) Collins; four sisters, Carolyn (John) Hobbs; Joanne June (Robert Knapp); Louanne Collins (David DelPapa), and Monica Merola; sister-in-law, Marianne Collins; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 11 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 4112 East Genesee St. Syracuse. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Jamesville. Family and friends may call on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Road (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
