Edward F. Corsello's Obituary
Edward F. Corsello , 78, passed away on January 4, 2018 in Lakeland, Florida after a courageous battle with lung disease. Edward grew up in the Eastwood area of Syracuse, NY and graduated from Eastwood High School. In his senior year of high school he won the Top City High School Championship for golf. After graduating high school he served in the armed forces. He then attended barber school and worked for several years at the Eastwood Barber Shop. His most rewarding career move came when he joined the Syracuse Fire Department and served with pride for 20 years.
Ed’s true passion was golf and he spent his winters in Lakeland, FL during his retirement years. For all of his adult life, he was a member of the Liverpool Golf and Country Club and will surely be missed by all of his golf buddies.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Frances Corsello. Ed is survived by his son,Anthony Edward Corsello of St. Petersburg, FL., and his daughter, Aleta M. Patapow of Baldwinsville; a brother, Julian (Melly) Corsello of E. Syracuse; his sister, Roslyn (John)
Campagna of Westvale, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Lanier Funeral Home and a military service was held at the Bushnell National Veterans Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
The Corsello family wishes to thank the Good Shepherd Hospice facility in Lakeland for their kind and compassionate care of our beloved Edward.
A memorial mass in Ed’s honor will be held at a later date.
