Edward M. Cupoli, PhD, age 72, a longtime resident of Guilderland, NY passed away peacefully at the Teresian House Nursing Home in Albany surrounded by his family. Born in Syracuse, NY, he is the son of the late Anthony and Nina Read Obituary

I am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed the time we spent together in the summer of 2006. Ed always had a smile and a warm greeting. His knowledge in all areas of life is what I admired. He will be missed.
My deepest condolences to Sharon and the family. We all feel a deep loss of a special person.
One of Ed's superpowers was flashing that bright smile to make people feel comfortable and included. His deep affection and faith in his church, family and community was second to none. You could always count on his fellowship and support when you needed it most. Doris and I will miss his quick wit and intellect. He was a great work colleague and a better friend. May he rest in peace.

Ed was a fascinating, earnest, and valuable co-worker and dear friend during our mutual time at the NYS Assembly. We shared a lot of laughs and the kind of serious chats about life and challenging circumstances that helped us value one another a lot. Ed let me sub for him as an instructor and then helped me to obtain an adjunct teaching position at UAlbany. I appreciated his trust in me as a co-worker and in that academic setting.
More significantly, in our many chats, I learned about his deep love for Sharon and his entire family and his strong faith. We occasionally discussed our shared Christian faith and I know Ed's was totally sincere.

Ed reminded all of us that he was a very caring individual and a good boss. He hired me and provided many opportunities for me to grow, which I will always treasure.
In addition, he was a good friend. We had a lot of funs together in traveling, playing golf, celebrating the holidays together. I learned so much from him.
Our daughter Lucie remembered vividly that Ed gave her a tour at the new Nano Center at SUNY Albany, which opened her eyes to an exciting science and technology world.
We will miss him, but these memories will stay with us forever.

I worked with Ed at the Assembly for many years. No matter what time of night or in the wee hours, Ed was always smiling, laughing and ready to help or share his knowledge. What a great guy…he had a good heart and just delighted in sharing his talents with others. RIP Ed🌹
Ed and I went to high school together, I am so sorry for your loss. It seems that he was the same later in life as when I knew him. Always had a smile and a kind word to one and all.
