Edward T. "Uncle Ed" Familo's Obituary
Edward T. “Uncle Ed” Familo, 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at Crouse Hospital. Born in Syracuse to the late Virginia (Signorile) and Frederic G. Familo, Ed was employed for several years with Onondaga Bank. Ed was an avid coin collector, enjoyed watching SU sports and NASCAR, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his late wife, Cheryl, and being her caretaker.
Along with his parents, Ed is predeceased by his wife, Cheryl; and his brother, Frederic “Rick.”
Ed is survived by his sister-in-law, Linda Familo; brothers-in-law, Wilson L. Johnson, and Woodrow R. (Ann) Johnson; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M., immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Ed’s life at 12:00 P.M. in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212. Ed will be laid to rest beside his wife, Cheryl, in White Chapel Memory Gardens, Dewitt.
