Edward D. "Ed" Keohane's Obituary
Edward D. “Ed” Keohane, 92, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2022, at Syracuse Home with his loving family by his side. Ed was a life resident of Syracuse, born the son of the late Jeremiah and Nora (Enright) Keohane. He was a graduate of Most Holy Rosary High School in 1948 and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy. Ed was employed for nearly 50 dedicated years with Strathmore Paints, retiring as the Vice-President of Manufacturing. Ed enjoyed traveling, especially spending his winters in Florida. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and was a season ticketholder for Syracuse University sporting events for many years, including times at Archbold Stadium and the Carrier Dome. Above all, Ed enjoyed spending time with his beloved children and grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Ed was predeceased by his wife, Jeanette S. Keohane; a sister, Mary Agnes Centore; and 3 brothers, Jack, Don, and Paul Keohane.
Ed is survived by his children, Karen A. Keohane, and Jerry (Jennifer) Keohane; grandchildren, Zachary, Aaron, and Nathan Keohane; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 10 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral Mass in celebration of Ed’s life at 11 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, 409 S. Main St., North Syracuse. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ed’s memory may be made to the St. Rose of Lima Building Fund, 409 S. Main St. North Syracuse, NY 13212.
