Edward W. LaPoint's Obituary
Edward W. LaPoint, 84, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at James Square. Ed was a longtime resident of Eastwood and later settled on Oneida Lake. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and was very active with the Boy Scouts of America as a troop leader. Ed was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus and a communicant of Blessed Sacrament and St. Francis of Assisi Church. He was also a life member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 267, Syracuse. Ed was the owner and operator of Hoffmeister Plumbing and Heating for over 30 years. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Patricia (Hoffmeister) LaPoint. Ed is survived by his daughter, Mary Kay (Michael) Alden of Georgia; a son, Leonard (Terry) LaPoint of Liverpool; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
