Edward J. Rinefierd's Obituary
Edward J. Rinefierd, 95, of Syracuse passed away peacefully at his son John's home on Monday, June 10, 2013. Ed was born in Syracuse on July 31,1917 to Herman and Mary Rinefierd. He attended North High School and was a master tool and die maker for many years. He retired from Van Sanford Tool Company in East Syracuse in 2001 at the age of 84. Ed was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church where he was a head usher for many years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Kathryn (June), and 2 brothers, William and Richard Rinefierd.
Ed is survived by his daughter, Patricia (Tom) Hill of San Antonio, TX; sons, John "Jack" (Beverly) Rinefierd of East Syracuse and Michael (Janet) Rinefierd of Dublin, OH; 3 grandchildren, Tommy (Heather) Hill of San Antonio, TX, Ellen (Marty) Koellner of New Braunfels, TX and Carleigh Rinefierd of Chicago, IL, 3 great-grandchildren, Katie and Matthew Hill, and Payton Koellner. Also surviving are 2 brothers, Robert (Alice) Rinefierd of Liverpool and Herm (Ruth) Rinefierd of Cocoa Beach FL, and many nieces and nephews.
A prayer service will be held at 8:00 am Tuesday, June 18th in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME followed by a funeral mass at 9:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 3127 James St., Syracuse. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
Calling hours are Monday, June 17th from 4-7 pm at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse.
