Edward D. Roman's Obituary
Edward D. Roman, 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, with family at his side.
He was predeceased by parents, Theodore and Daniella Roman and sister, Dr. Vivian Stephany Roman. He was a graduate of West Genesee High School Camillus. NY.
Eddie had a passion for cars and motorcycles and was a brilliant mechanic and detailer. He was a talented artist and carpenter, using his skills in his family business, Romans Tavern and Daniella’s.
He worked for the Onondaga County Clerk’s Office before moving to Virginia and working in Building Code Enforcement. Eddie returned to Syracuse for retirement.
Eddie is survived by his siblings, Charles Roman, and his wife, Aggie, R. Diane Roman and Barbara Roman Stack; nephews, John Stack and James “Jimbo” Stack; niece, Danielle Stack Cheney, her husband, John Cheney and sons, Gavin Cheney, Owen Cheney and Quinn Cheney; stepdaughter, Jennifer Savastino; cousin, Elizabeth Karwowski Wilson and husband Tom and family.
The family gives special thanks and appreciation to the staff at Upstate Medical Center and St. Camillus Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care and attention paid to Eddie.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Monday, March 10, 2025, at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
A funeral Mass celebrating Eddies life will be held at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at 9:30 am on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Ave., Syracuse, NY 13204.
