Elaine E. (Bruns) Dalfo's Obituary
Elaine E. (Bruns) Dalfo, 85, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 26, 2015 after a short illness. Elaine was born on July 4, 1930, in Eastwood and graduated from Eastwood High School. She was formerly employed in the mortgage department at Onondaga Savings Bank. Elaine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed reading, gardening and puzzles, but most of all spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her parents, August and Elsa (Beiling) Bruns; her brother, Arnie Bruns and her daughter, Dona E. Cerio.
Elaine is survived by her husband of 63 years, Horace J. “Joe” Dalfo; her sons, Joe (Trish) Dalfo and Brian (Tina) Dalfo, son-in-law, Vincent Cerio; her grandchildren, Jeff (Maryann Szczesny) Cerio, Melissa (Matt Luke) Cerio, Alicia (Tim) Talarico, Cristi Dalfo, Joey Dalfo, Brian Dalfo and Vinny Dalfo; one great-granddaughter, Daniella Talarico. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Grace Murrath, Carrie Detor, Stella Bellomo, and Helen (Ed) Presbyla as well as an aunt, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Elaine’s life at 9:00 A.M. at St. Daniel’s Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, November 30, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME.
