Elaine Augusta (Artin) Grudzinski's Obituary
Elaine Augusta (Artin) Grudzinski, 88, of Williamsville, New York, passed away August 2, 2018. Elaine was born in Lakeland, New York, the daughter of the late Augusta (Fabian) and Joseph Artin. Elaine graduated from Solvay High School and went on to work at Syracuse China and The Ford Motor Company. She married Leo Walter Grudzinski in 1957 and had two children, Barbara Ann and Gregory.
She was a proud and active member of the Syracuse Polish Home community. Polish Home was where she met her husband, Leo, and where they enjoyed many good times with family and friends. Elaine helped manage Polish Home's Bingo program, a major source of fundraising for Polish Home. It was a job she loved, in no small part because of her love of Bingo, which she continued to enjoy throughout her life.
She was predeceased by her husband Leo, who died in 1996, as well as her sisters, Frances Longwinter, Helen Pozzi, Beatrice Fabisiak, and Charlotte Leahey, and her brothers, Adam, Charles, Raymond, Stanley and William. Elaine is survived by her sister Gloria Piatkowski and her children Barbara Ann (Grudzinski) Collins and husband Bill, and Gregory Grudzinski and wife Joanne, and grandchildren Austin Collins, Christian Collins, Noelle Grudzinski, and Ryland Grudzinski.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 7th at 10:00am at The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Ave, Syracuse, NY. A private internment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elaine's memory can be made to Syracuse Polish Community Foundation, Inc., (a tax-exempt, non-profit foundation), 915 Park Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13204. Funeral arrangements are provided by Thomas J. Pirro, Jr. Funeral Home.
