Eleanor R. (Woltz) Smith's Obituary
Eleanor R. Smith, 82, of Buffalo, passed away Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born in Buffalo, NY and graduated from Holy Angels High School and D’Youville College where she received her Master’s degree in Nursing. She went on to raise her family and carry out her nursing degree as a Registered Nurse. Eleanor retired 10 years ago from St. Mary of the Angels Mother House Infirmary in Williamsville, NY. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, spending time with her family and was extremely patriotic, and devoted to her country, as she was married for 48 years to a decorated WWII Army hero.
She was predeceased by her husband, Sylvester B. Smith in 2005; her parents, Leonard Woltz and Sophie Jezioro and her brother, Leonard Woltz.
Eleanor is survived by her three children, Sally A. (Charles) Goldschmidt of Liverpool, Sylvester G. Smith of Liverpool and Sharon L. (Smith) Boland of Wellington, FL; two grandchildren, Bradley W. Boland and Connor E. Boland.
Calling hours for family and friends will be held from noon – 2:30 pm on Saturday, December 12, 2015 with a service in celebration of Eleanor’s life to follow at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Medina, NY at a later date.
