Elga (Gambarana) King's Obituary
Elga King, 91, of Manlius, passed away peacefully following a brief illness on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Crouse Hospital. She was born and raised in New York City and was a graduate of Hunter College and also a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. Elga worked in NYC after college in advertising and public relations. She and her husband resided in Ringwood, NJ for 50 years and together raised their family. Elga enjoyed traveling, theater, tennis and gardening.
She was predeceased by her parents, Oreste and Antoinetta (Peracchio) Gambarana and her brother, Elmo Gambarana.
Elga is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James J. King; her two daughters, Diane King of Woodstock, VA and Valerie (Gregory) Dunn of Manlius, NY; six grandchildren, Stephanie and husband Kevin, Spencer, Christopher, Lindsey, Emily and Emmett.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service in celebration of Elga’s life at 12:30 pm in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
