Elica (Kocovska) Mangovski's Obituary
Elica (Kocovska) Mangovski, 64 of East Syracuse, NY, passed away on July 1, 2025, at home with her beloved and devoted husband and family by her side, after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Ellie was born in Opticari, Macedonia, on June 3, 1961. After graduating from high school, she immigrated to the United States via Canada, where she met her future husband, Vasko Mangovski, who was visiting family. They were married on October 13, 1984, in a civil ceremony in Toronto, Canada. They later celebrated their marriage with a church ceremony on July 7, 1985, at St. George Macedonian Orthodox Church in Syracuse, NY.
From 1985 to 1999, Ellie worked at John and Sons Market on Fly Road with her husband, a partner, along with his parents, brother, and sister-in-law, in this family business. From 1999 to 2016, she was employed by Anaren Microwave, working in a division that manufactured components related to the defense industry.
In her private life, Ellie took great pleasure in baking and cooking comfort food for her family, attending her children’s sporting events, and enjoying her favorite soap operas. But, above all, she loved spending family time with her husband and children, and she supported each of their individual interests. In more recent years, she cherished the time she spent with her husband at their permanent camp and boating site at Hinckley Reservoir.
Ellie is predeceased by her father and mother, Tanas and Blaga Kocovski. She is survived by her husband Vasko; her daughters, Maria (Alexander) Stojcevski and Katie Mangovski (Axel Alejandro); her son Marc Mangovski (Amy Zalla); her grandchildren, Nikola and Ana Stojcevski, Tanas Mangovski, and Atlas Alejandro; her sister-in-law Sofi Mangovski; and her brother Kole Kocovski and family.
Family and friends may call at St. George Macedonian Orthodox Church, 5083 Onondaga Rd., Syracuse, NY, on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. A funeral service will be held immediately after calling hours. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at St. George Macedonian Orthodox Church following services.
