Elisabeth "Betty" (Bono) Perra's Obituary
Elisabeth "Betty" (Bono) Perra, 94, joined her beloved husband, Tony, and her daughter, Lucy Ann, in Heaven on Saturday, December 3, 2016. She was born in Reggio Calabria Italy, and moved to Syracuse in 1924 where she met Tony in 1939 and they were married in 1942 on St. Valentine’s Day. Together they raised their 9 loving children and were married for over 69 years. Betty belonged to Young at Heart Senior Center in Cicero as well as being a member of the Happy Roamers at St. Vincent’s Church in Syracuse.
She is predeceased by her parents, Antonio and Marie Antoinette (Piccolo) Bono; her brother, Nicholas Bono; her sister, Rose Smarelli; and daughter, Lucy Ann.
She is survived by her 8 children - Frederick (Karen) Perra , Diane (Albert) Cima, Anthony Jr., Marie, Edward (Kim), David (Renee’), Lisa (Lon) Ziankoski and Deborah (Jerry) Blanchard; her 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Josephine Piccirillo of Niagara Falls, and her nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:00 am on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, and 10:00 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
