Elizabeth "Liz" (Detor) Iudice's Obituary
Elizabeth “Liz” (Detor) Iudice, passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side on December 21, 2021. Liz was the eldest child born to Louis and Rose Detor on March 26, 1941. She grew up on the north side of Syracuse and was a graduate of North High School Class of 1959. Liz and some of her high school classmates still get together for lunches monthly. Liz worked for the NYS Department of Parks and Recreation and more recently Joseph’s House. She enjoyed walking, gardening, loved animals, and supported a number of charitable organizations. She enjoyed vacationing at Lake George with her family for many summers and traveling throughout the country with her husband and visiting family in Italy. She also enjoyed her many trips to New York City for shows, ball games, and of course, shopping.
Along with her parents, Liz was predeceased by her sisters Eleanor and Mary Margaret Detor.
Liz is survived by her loving husband Matthew of 57 years; her sons Matthew and Michael and her daughters-in-law, Jennifer, and Megan that she loved so dearly; her brother, Louis Detor III; sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at 11:30 am, at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Camillus.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Joseph’s House, 802 Court St., Syracuse, NY 13208.
