Elvira (Iacuone) Petragnani's Obituary
Elvira (Iacuone) Petragnani, 98, of Syracuse, passed away on Sunday at Loretto Cunningham. She was born on February 21, 1916 in Rome, NY to Giuseppe and Concetta (Guardiani) Iacuone. Elvira was employed at Flah's and B. Forman for many years and retired in 1995.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Petragnani in 1963; her son, Michael Petragnani in 1978; her parents; brothers, Salvatore, Joseph, Aldo and Mario, and sisters, Jean Massimiani and Antoinette DeAngelo. Elvira is survived by her two sons, Albert (Janet) Petragnani of Liverpool and Nicholas (Sharon) Petragnani of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren, Jay (Tammy), Michelle Petragnani, Nicholas (Christina), Robert (Gail), Amy (Ross) Piscitelli and Michael Jr., nine great-grandchildren; her sisters, Dora (Frank) Settineri, Rose LaMontagne, Norma (Frank) Safin and Donna Lou (Norman) Kreitzer; sisters-in-law, Rita Iacuone and Patricia Iacuone along with many nieces and nephews.
Her family wishes to extend a special "thank you" to the staff on the 12th floor of Loretto Cunningham for their loving care of "Elvie".
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. The Holy Name Society will recite their ritual on Tuesday at 3:30 pm at the funeral home.
