Elvira A. "Vera" (Fatino) Reymond's Obituary
Elvira A. “Vera” (Fatino) Reymond, 78, of Syracuse passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Vera was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Anthony and Emma (Montesano) Fatino. She retired after 21 years as a Supervisor for Islip Public Library on Long Island. After retirement they moved to Syracuse to be closer to their kids and grandkids. They then went on to purchasing a house in The Villages in Florida to escape the winters and she loved being a snowbird.
Vera enjoyed reading, watching movies, cooking and playing Solitaire and Sudoku. She also loved motorcycle rides on their trike that was a retirement gift to each other.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Mary Ann Villareale; her brothers, Anthony and Bruno Fatino; her dog, Sandy and her close friends, Teeky Ignatovich and Joanie Serenita.
Elvira is survived by her loving husband, John Reymond; her sons, Thomas Reymond and Kenneth (Jacqueline) Reymond; grandchildren, Alek and Megan Reymond; her sister-in-law, Catherine Fatino; her grand-dog, Josie; many nieces, nephews, cousins and her close friends, Carol Jensen, Betty Huggler and Rosalie Lopez-Lopez.
Visitation will be held on Sunday March 30, 2025, from 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Vera’s life at 4:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse.
A celebration of Vera’s life will be held later this year on Long Island.
