Emanuel J. "Mannie" Neri's Obituary
Emanuel “Mannie” J. Neri, 93, of Clay, NY passed away peacefully on May 31, 2023. Born and raised in Syracuse, Mannie was a highly decorated veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, Mannie earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Syracuse University and went on to establish a successful law practice in Syracuse.
Mannie is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Mary Elizabeth Neri (nee Diglio) and his daughters, Mary Jane (Gary) Frost, Judith (William) Gutowitz, and Gina (James) Pierantozzi; his grandchildren, Meredith, Morgan, Mason, and five great grandchildren.
All who knew Mannie loved his generosity of spirit, boundless and irreverent humor and his infectious smile. Mannie, you will be forever in our hearts - farewell and Godspeed.
In keeping with Mannie’s wishes, funeral services will be private. The family is eternally grateful to the outstanding staff at Francis House for their compassion and care during Mannie’s final days. Donations in Mannie’s honor should be directed to Francis House, 108 Michaels Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13208.
