He was a member of the 1959 National Championship Team with friendships lasting a lifetime. He became a Syracuse University sports fan at a young age and became even more passionate along with his own family, the players and other fans.
Some fondest memories were from Shehawken Lake in Starrucca, PA with cousins and friends, and Camp Woodcraft in Old Forge. Later working in Ogdensburg, Alexandria Bay where the Thousand Islands became one of his favorite places.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family attending baseball games, Oswego Speedway, anything SU, annual trips to Santa’s Workshop, traveling, including classic country singers.
Rick’s fascination with antique cars, fire engines and trains lead him to become a member of the CNY Chapter National Railway Historical Society. He became the Excursion Director for the local chapter. For several years he and Rena volunteered tirelessly to give others the opportunity, enjoyment, learning experience of riding the historical trains.
Rick remained a “Kid at Heart” and did things his way.
