Estella Daino's Obituary
Estella Daino, 95, passed away on November 18, 2018 at Bishop Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born in Syracuse, NY on August 30, 1923 to Estella Verzola Daino and Dominick Daino. She attended Syracuse City schools and was employed for many years at General Electric as a
comptometer specialist. Stella was an avid sportswoman playing tennis, golf, bowling and archery. She was a loyal Yankee's fan watching every televised game until the final inning no matter how long the game lasted. She also enjoyed trips to the Turning Stone Casino to play the slot machines and kept detailed records of her winnings.
Stella was predeceased by her sisters, Josephine Daino, Rose Denero, and Genevieve Vitiello; brothers, Fred Daino, Peter Daino, Albert Daino and James Daino.
She is survived by nieces, Kathy Adornato, Angeline Catani, Patricia Daino, Anne Denero, Carol Ann Domres, Deborah Shiver and Rosemary Rath; nephews, James Daino, Anthony Denero, and Ralph J. Vitiello. She is also survived by great and great-great nieces and nephews too numerous to
mention by name.
The family would like to express special gratitude to family friend and caregiver, Donna Sherback.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Estella’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St., Syracuse, NY. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church.
