Estelle A. (Satunas) DeFrancesco's Obituary
Estelle A. DeFrancesco, born on September 26, 1938, in Scranton, PA, and a resident of Syracuse’s Northside and Cicero, NY, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the beloved wife of Anthony “Tony” for 67 years, and was a devoted mother to her four sons, Anthony (and significant other), Mike, Frank (Rosie), and John (Terry), she was a proud grandmother to six, and a great-grandmother to four.
Estelle was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary (Scopelliti) Satunas, and her brother, John Satunas.
A lifelong learner and a source of inspiration, Estelle returned to school later in life to pursue her passion for knowledge. She earned a bachelor’s degree in labor law from Cornell University, a testament to her determination and love for education.
Estelle was a woman of many talents and joys. She had a passion for teaching arts and crafts, creating intricate crochet pieces, and taking long car rides while listening to her favorite audiobooks. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, creating memories that will be cherished by those who knew and loved her.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Estelle’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Assumption Church, 812 N. Salina St., Syracuse, NY. Private burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Monday, December 30, 2024 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
