Esther G. (Giacobbe) Bonarrigo's Obituary
Esther G. (Giacobbe) Bonarrigo, 92, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Sunnyside Care Center. Born in Messina, Italy Esther lived in the Syracuse area for more than 60 years. She worked as a seamstress and retired from Flah’s; and then at Mitzi’s Place for several years. Esther was a loving daughter, sister, wife and aunt. She enjoyed gardening and was passionate about fashion. Esther was a devout Catholic, a parishioner of St. Peter’s Church for more than 55 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lorenzo Bonarrigo, her parents, Thomasina and Andrew Giacobbe, her sister-in-law, Renata Giacobbe and her brother, Philip M. Giacobbe.
Esther is survived by her brother, Dr. Frank Giacobbe of Buffalo; sisters-in-law, Ellen Giacobbe and Giovanna Isgro; her nieces and nephews, Nicholas (Pamela) Isgro, Thomasina (Gary) Zavalauskas, Lisa (Scott) Charles, Gina Lumia, Maria (Joseph) Maione, Dr. Andrew (Laura) Giacobbe, Mario (Andrea) Giacobbe, Frank Giacobbe and Paola (Daniel) Kersch; along with seventeen great-nieces and great-nephews.
Calling hours for family and friends will be Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. A Funeral Service in celebration of Esther’s life will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 pm, she will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
