Eveline (Abboud) Abdo 's Obituary
Eveline (Abboud) Abdo, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday at home with her daughter by her side. She was born in Acre, Palestine, daughter of the late Najeeb and Enshirah Abboud. Eveline was a founder and matriarch of St. Elias Orthodox Church and president of the Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Her love and faith was strong, and was an inspiration to all. Eveline was a very giving person, and loved spending time with her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, A. Abraham Abdo, and her granddaughter, Evie Hawa.
Eveline is survived by her daughter, Rose Hawa; three grandchildren, Nimer (Lori) Hawa, Yvonne (Nick) Abdo, and Karen (Tony) Caporizzo; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Simon (Lilly) Abboud; her sister, Ava Ayoub, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Eveline’s life will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, November 27, 2017 at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church, 4988 Onondaga Rd., Syracuse, NY. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 3:00 – 6:00 pm with a Trisagion Service at 5:30 pm on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church, 4988 Onondaga Rd., Syracuse, NY.
