Evelyn J. Farrand's Obituary
Evelyn J. Farrand, 84, of Jamesville passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Eve. Evelyn was born in Syracuse to the late Joseph and Ann Mangan and was a graduate of Nottingham High School and CCBI. She was a long-time resident of Jamesville for almost 49 years and married her high school sweetheart, Jim Farrand. Evelyn worked several years at Kacey’s Drugs, as a Medical Office Assistant at North Medical, and was fondly thought of by her customers and patients. As a talented and very creative ceramics artist, she won several recognitions and awards for her work and was also a well-known Tupperware dealer. Many holiday dinners were celebrated in her home where she decorated for every season of the year. She especially enjoyed taking her sporty Lincoln Mark VII and her FILA Thunderbird out during the summer months for trips to Skaneateles, Alexandria Bay and Lake George.
Evelyn was predeceased by her son, John in 2003, her brother, Joseph and her sisters, Eleanor (Sam) Cornacchione and Dorothy (Richard) Burdick.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jim; her two daughters, Dorothy (Albert) Pu and Debbie (Jeff) Thrall; her grandchildren, Tiffany, Brandon, Brennen, and Brianna; several nieces and nephews; as well as many friends and family members who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 10:00 – 11:30 A.M. immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Evelyn’s life at 11:30 A.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
